Responsibilities

  • Supervise Tank Team Lead and oversee build/delivery of equipment per SOPs.
  • Ensure SOPs are followed by build and delivery teams.
  • Oversee quality checks on outgoing equipment.
  • Document and maintain equipment/service data in CRM.
  • Coordinate and dispatch technicians for fuel equipment service needs.
  • Review CRM documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform routine inspections per safety requirements and standards.
  • Maintain inventory processes for service operations and builds.
  • Schedule site visits to assess customer needs and installation requirements.
  • Prioritize work based on FIFO, priority, and workload.
  • Coordinate customers in the Xtreme Program.
  • Supervise the Xtreme Cleaning Team on a biannual basis.
  • Promote a safe work environment and compliant practices.
  • Keep yard organized and equipment/materials properly stored.
  • Communicate with Sales on status and delivery estimates.
  • Work with leads to manage workload and KPIs.
  • Provide guidance to ensure accurate and efficient work.
  • Identify issues and implement improvements.
  • Maintain focus on customer service and timely issue resolution.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Job Overview

Reeder Distributors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fuel Equipment Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Fuel Equipment service and tank teams. This position is responsible for coordinating equipment builds, service operations, tank projects, deliveries, and customer requests while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with Company standards.

The Fuel Equipment Manager provides hands-on leadership to team leads, technicians, and other department employees while managing workload, service priorities, quality, inventory, and operational performance. This position works closely with Sales and other departments to coordinate customer needs, project timelines, and service expectations.

The ideal candidate is a strong operations leader who is organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment. This individual should be able to lead employees, solve operational problems, hold teams accountable, and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, customer service, and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Tank Team Lead and oversee the build and delivery of equipment in accordance with established Company procedures, SOPs, and job specifications for aboveground storage tanks (ASTs).
  • Implement and ensure established SOPs are consistently followed by Fuel Equipment build and delivery teams.
  • Oversee quality checks on outgoing equipment to ensure work is completed accurately and meets Company and customer expectations.
  • Ensure equipment, service, and customer information is accurately documented and maintained within the Company's CRM system.
  • Coordinate and dispatch technicians for service requests involving fuel storage tanks, fuel management systems, monitoring systems, equipment on loan, and other Fuel Equipment service needs.
  • Review and audit documentation submitted within the CRM for service work, Equipment Agreements, pickups and moves, and equipment sales to ensure information is accurate and complete.
  • Perform routine inspections and ensure work is completed in accordance with Company policies, safety requirements, applicable regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ensure established inventory processes and procedures are followed for service operations, equipment builds, and tank builds.
  • Coordinate and schedule site visits to assess customer needs and determine equipment and installation requirements.
  • Prioritize equipment builds, service requests, and customer needs based on FIFO, customer priority, workload, and overall business needs.
  • Coordinate and prioritize customers participating in the Xtreme Program.
  • Supervise the Xtreme Cleaning Team and ensure required services are scheduled and completed on a biannual basis.
  • Promote a safe work environment by ensuring employees follow established safety procedures and perform assigned work in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the yard and ensure equipment and materials are properly maintained and stored.
  • Maintain communication with Sales Representatives regarding the status and estimated completion or delivery dates of equipment builds and service requests.
  • Work closely with team leads to manage workload, address operational needs, and ensure departmental and Company goals are achieved in accordance with established KPIs.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to employees to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with Company expectations.
  • Identify operational issues or areas for improvement and work with leadership to develop and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer service by ensuring customer needs are addressed timely and issues are appropriately communicated and resolved.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on departmental and business needs.

Qualifications
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in fuel equipment, petroleum equipment, field service, industrial equipment, construction, mechanical service, or a related operational environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading employees and managing day-to-day operational activities.
  • Strong knowledge of service operations, scheduling, workflow coordination, and customer service.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, service requests, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to set expectations, delegate responsibilities, coach employees, and hold team members accountable.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to respond effectively to changing operational and customer needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with employees, customers, Sales Representatives, and Company leadership.
  • Comfortable working with CRM, service management, inventory, or similar business systems.
  • Ability to understand and enforce Company procedures, SOPs, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within the petroleum, fuel equipment, tank, industrial equipment, or related service industry.
  • Knowledge of aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), fuel storage and dispensing equipment, fuel management systems, monitoring systems, and related equipment.
  • Experience managing field service technicians, equipment installers, tank teams, or skilled trades employees.
  • Experience with service dispatching, equipment builds, inventory management, site assessments, and project coordination.
  • Familiarity with applicable safety requirements, regulations, and industry standards associated with fuel equipment operations.
