Job summary

Tiger Fuel Company in Lovingston, VA is seeking a Fuel Delivery Driver/Service Tech to load, drive a bobtail delivery vehicle, and service customers. You will prioritize safety, efficiency, and outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You must hold a CDL A or B with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements and be able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and MVR check. The role includes on-call duty, after-hours deliveries, and occasional plant maintenance, with company benefits.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
• Ability to safely load, transport, and unload propane and fuels.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
• Pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, and MVR check.
• Operate as Service Technician for tank maintenance when needed.

Responsibilities

• Load, secure, transport and deliver propane and other fuels to destinations.
• Inspect vehicle and report maintenance needs.
• Plan routes with Dispatcher to meet schedules and delivery windows.
• Provide exceptional customer service and answer questions from customers.
• Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours and weekend deliveries.
• Assist with plant maintenance when heating season ends.

We're looking for an outstanding Fuel Delivery Driver/Service Tech to join our Team at our Lovingston Plant. This position requires an individual to safely load, then drive a bobtail delivery vehicle to residential and commercial customer locations, and to be cross trained as a Service Technician. We're seeking someone who has a real passion for customer service and thrives in a fast-paced environment as a safety-focused Fuel Delivery Driver.

Requirements

• Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane & other fuel to and from specified destinations.
• Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies or routine maintenance.
• Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• Operates delivery truck in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Can also operate as a Service Technician performing tank maintenance and other tasks.
• Collaborate with Dispatcher to plan and follow routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Provide exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering questions.
• Completes required on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries and responses.
• Ensure struck and associated equipment are clean and in good working order.
• Outside of heating season, assists with plant maintenance and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications And Experience

• Possess a CDL Class A or B License with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements
• Commitment to safety in all aspects of your work!
• Experience maneuvering in tight quarters and driving in snow, ice and other weather conditions
• Physically capable of heavy lifting, bending, squatting, climbing, carrying hoses/nozzles weighing up to 50 lbs
• Good driving record with no major convictions
• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in written correspondence with Dispatcher and customers
• Able to read and understand road signs, instructions, routes and other paperwork
• Displays a positive, “can-do” attitude and interacts well with others on a team
• Pass a pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, and MVR check.
