Job summary

Stewart’s Shops in Vermont is seeking a Fuel Compliance Inspector and Maintenance person to ensure fueling facilities comply with state and federal regulations for underground and above-ground storage tanks. The role will also involve learning and performing minor equipment testing, air machine installation, and troubleshooting.

Stewart’s Shops is looking for a Fuel Compliance Inspector and Maintenance person to join our Gas Marketing department. The primary role is to ensure that our fueling facilities are in compliance with State and Federal regulations for underground and above-ground storage tanks. Additionally, the right candidate will learn and perform minor equipment testing & maintenance, air machine installation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document inspections of fuel dispensing facilities.
• Assist NYS DEC during State inspections of our facilities.
• Assist in compliance training of shop and district employees.
• Perform routine sensor testing & troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor facility maintenance issues.

Requirements

• Clean driving record and availability to travel out of town 2-3 times per month.
• Comfortable with electronics and computers.
• Experience with paints, sheet metal, fiberglass repair and other materials like epoxies and sealants as well as underground storage tank systems is a plus, but can be taught.

Schedule & Pay

• Typical 40hr work week, some limited overtime. Flexible schedule. No weekends unless there’s a rare emergency.
• Can work 4 ten-hour shifts to max productivity with driving but can also work 5 eight-hour shifts if candidate is flexible on longer road days.
• Starting Pay: $26-30/hr.
