Job summary
Stewart’s Shops in Vermont is seeking a Fuel Compliance Inspector and Maintenance person to ensure fueling facilities comply with state and federal regulations for underground and above-ground storage tanks. The role also involves learning minor equipment testing, air machine installation, and troubleshooting.
You will perform inspections, assist NYS DEC during state inspections, help train staff, and handle routine sensor testing and basic repairs.
Qualifications
- Honest work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills for field and training tasks.
- Safety- and detail-oriented approach for inspections.
- Willingness to work outdoors year-round in varying weather.
- Clean driving record and ability to travel 2–3 times per month.
- Comfortable with electronics and computers; basic repair skills help.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document inspections of fueling facilities.
- Assist NYS DEC during state inspections of our facilities.
- Assist in compliance training of shop and district employees.
- Perform routine sensor testing and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor facility maintenance issues.
