Millennium seeks an experienced FTR Portfolio Manager to lead and expand a US power markets trading strategy within a premier global hedge fund platform.

You will own risk, capital allocation and trading decisions, leveraging sophisticated analytics and market infrastructure to drive consistent risk‑adjusted returns across ISOs and market regimes.

FTR Portfolio Manager – US Power Markets | Global Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund

Location – New York, Greenwich, Miami, West Palm Beach or San Francisco or Remote

Description:

Our client is a leading global multi-strategy hedge fund with a sophisticated investment platform spanning multiple asset classes and strategies. The firm provides portfolio managers with access to institutional capital, global market infrastructure, advanced technology and dedicated resources to support the development and growth of their investment businesses.

The firm continues to invest in its commodities capabilities and is seeking an experienced FTR Portfolio Manager to manage and expand a strategy focused on US power markets. This is an opportunity for a proven specialist to take ownership of an FTR trading mandate within a well-resourced institutional environment.

The Opportunity:

The role is focused on identifying and capturing opportunities across US Financial Transmission Rights markets, drawing on a deep understanding of congestion, transmission constraints, market fundamentals and pricing dynamics.

The successful candidate will bring a demonstrable track record in FTR trading, strong market expertise and the ability to manage risk and generate consistent returns. There is scope to develop the strategy, deploy capital and leverage the firm's broader platform, while maintaining clear ownership of investment decisions and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage FTR trading strategies across relevant US power markets.
• Identify opportunities through analysis of congestion, transmission constraints, auction dynamics and market fundamentals.
• Build and refine analytical frameworks to evaluate FTR pricing and potential trading opportunities.
• Manage portfolio construction, capital allocation, position sizing and risk.
• Monitor market developments, trading performance, PnL attribution and portfolio exposures.
• Evaluate strategy performance and identify opportunities to enhance returns and risk management.
• Work with relevant technology, data and research resources to support strategy development and implementation.

Ideal Candidate:

• An established FTR Portfolio Manager or senior trader with a proven track record in US power markets.
• Strong understanding of FTR markets, congestion pricing and transmission dynamics.
• Experience trading across relevant ISOs, such as PJM, MISO, NYISO or ISO-NE.
• Demonstrable ability to generate consistent, risk-adjusted returns.
• Strong analytical capabilities and experience with power market modelling, forecasting or quantitative tools.
• Sound judgement across portfolio construction, risk management and capital allocation.
• The ability to operate independently and take full ownership of trading performance.
