Malcolm X College is currently seeking a Full-Time Faculty memberto teach Psychology. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Design courses to meet learning outcomes, and promote students’active participation in their own learning.
  • Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve usingdiscipline-specific thinking strategies.
  • Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensurethat classroom instruction leads to student learning and theattainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
  • Help students reach their academic, personal and career goals andfoster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people andideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidencein every student’s ability to learn.
  • Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academicand professional communities, and promote collaboration andteamwork among members of these communities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s in Psychology or Master’s in Clinical Psychology;specialized/applied degrees (e.g., School, Counseling, andIndustrial-Organizational) should be evaluated according to testedexperiences with a thorough graduate course review
  • Two-years of Mental Health experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of college-level teaching experiencepreferred.
  • Knowledge of Blackboard Learning Management System,preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability tocommunicate with diverse group of staff and students required
  • Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population isdesired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of thecommunity college.
  • Prior experience with online teaching (via Zoom) and/or teachingcertification is strongly preferred.

Salary Range: $58,000 - $65,000
