Job summary

Maryville Academy's Children’s Healthcare Center in Chicago, IL 60634 is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time overnights. Applicants must be licensed in Illinois and a graduate of an RN program.

Pediatric, emergency, or medical-surgical experience is preferred, with ventilator experience a plus. The position involves two 12-hour overnight shifts, weekend coverage as needed, and duties ranging from medication administration to care coordination and family education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of certified Registered Nurse Program.
• Currently licensed as an RN in Illinois.
• Experience in pediatric, emergency care or medical-surgical nursing.
• Experienced in complex pediatric care; ventilator experience preferred.
• Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with patient assessment, examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Provide patient care and document conditions, interventions, observations and activities.
• Admit and discharge children using appropriate forms and within one hour of admission/discharge.
• Educate patients and families and assist with coping and understanding procedures.
• Administer medications and maintain clean, stocked patient care areas.
• Coordinate care and communicate with Supervisors and Director; lead LPNs and CNAs.
