Job summary

Acadia Healthcare is seeking a Security Officer to monitor all individuals and vehicles entering and leaving the facility property and to maintain safety throughout the site.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in security or related fields, a valid driver’s license, and CPR/de-escalation certification. Training for certification is provided by the facility as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years’ experience in security, corrections or military.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• CPR and de-escalation certification required (training available).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all persons and vehicles entering or leaving facility property.
• Assist, direct and monitor all individuals on facility property.
• Maintain log books as required.
• Direct emergency personnel and manage traffic flow during emergencies.
• Communicate admissions, visits and deliveries to staff.
• Monitor parking and lobby areas; perform sweeps of the facility.
• Interact with staff and patients professionally.
• Report suspicious behavior to leadership.

Job description

Purpose Statement

Responsible for monitoring all persons and/or vehicles entering or leaving facility property.

Essential Functions

• Assist, direct and monitor all persons entering and leaving the facility property.
• Keep accurate log books, as required.
• Direct emergency personnel arriving on facility property and maintain flow of traffic during emergencies, such as fire drills.
• Communicate incoming admissions, visits and deliveries to appropriate staff.
• Monitor parking area to ensure that no loitering or misconduct takes place, monitor lobby area and do frequent sweeps of the entire facility.
• Interact with staff and patients in a professional manner at all times.
• Report any suspicious behavior to the CEO, supervisor or a member of leadership.

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years’ experience in security, corrections or military.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications

• Valid state driver's license.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
