Job Summary:

Prepares patient and assists clinical provider with patient examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, past medical history, social history, and chief complaint. Performs various clinical tasks within the scope of certification and under physician supervision.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, chief complaint, and preparing the exam room accordingly.
  2. Performs phlebotomy, obtains specimens, administers vaccines, and completes documentation. Performs diagnostic tests such as EKG and Pulmonary Function tests under supervision.
  3. Screens and directs patient calls, contacts patients regarding prescriptions and testing results as directed by the physician.
  4. Performs daily regulatory testing, documents accordingly, and maintains clinical equipment accuracy and compliance.
  5. Maintains par levels of clinical supplies.
  6. Performs front desk duties such as patient registration, billing, and scheduling as directed.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 1-3 years of similar experience in a medical office preferred.
Education:
  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant.
  • BLS Certification required.
