Primary Purpose
The management trainee program is designed to equip future managers with the necessary skills and knowledge for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform Meat Cutter functions as necessary.
- Recognize employee achievements and provide constructive feedback.
- Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
- Ensure department associates are properly trained by certified trainers.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Develop product knowledge across all Meat department areas.
- Conduct performance appraisals according to company standards.
- Maintain effective work schedules to meet standards and personal needs.
- Utilize company tools such as MPP, financial reports, scheduling, and ordering systems.
- Follow operational and merchandising standards to maximize profitability.
- Maintain communication within the department and organization.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and food safety standards.
- Understand and address shrink issues.
- Thoroughly understand department manuals and program guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Understanding of store operations and merchandising preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Leadership desire and ability.
- Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
- Ability to solve problems using technical information.
- Certified Food Safety Manager accreditation or ability to achieve within 90 days.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate computers and technical systems.
- Lift cases weighing 1-40 lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Meet activity standards.
- Stand or walk up to 100% of the time in cold temperatures.
- Perform repetitive motions and handle substances related to cleaning and meat products.
- Frequent bending.

Salary range: $18.95 - $27.25 per hour.
