PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Management Trainee Program aims to develop future managers with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective leadership.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Perform Meat Cutter functions as needed.
  2. Recognize achievements and provide constructive feedback.
  3. Treat all colleagues with fairness, dignity, and respect.
  4. Ensure department staff are properly trained by certified trainers.
  5. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  6. Develop product knowledge across all Meat department areas, including fresh and processed meats.
  7. Conduct performance reviews for department staff.
  8. Maintain effective scheduling to meet production, service, and personal needs.
  9. Utilize company tools such as MPP, financial reports, and inventory systems.
  10. Follow operational and merchandising standards to maximize profitability.
  11. Maintain clear communication within the department and organization.
  12. Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and food safety standards.
  13. Understand and manage shrinkage issues.
  14. Be familiar with departmental manuals and program guidelines.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Understanding of store operations and merchandising preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and sales skills.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Leadership desire and ability.
  • Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical skills.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to problem-solving.
  • Certification as a Food Safety Manager by the National Registry or similar organization, or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficiency with computers and technical systems.
  • Lift 1-40 lb. cases frequently; up to 100 lb. on occasion.
  • Meet volume activity standards.
  • Stand or walk up to 100% of the time in temperatures around 45°F.
  • Perform repetitive motions such as grasping, twisting, reaching.
  • Handle cleaning, packaging, and meat substances.
  • Frequent bending.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment.

  • Maintain department appearance and presentation.
  • Hire, train, and develop staff.
  • Achieve departmental supply and financial goals.
  • Supervise Meat department duties.

Salary range: $18.95 - $27.25 hourly.
