Responsibilities

• Move heavy items manually or with hand trucks or motorized vehicles.

• Set up decorations for events such as banquets or meetings.
• Perform general custodial/groundskeeping duties as needed.
• Perform similar duties as directed.

FT Maintenance Tradesperson - Payson Campus

Salary Range: $18.90 To $20.90 Hourly

Important: Ability to pass a background screening process and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is necessary to be employed by Gila Community College.

This is an on-campus position.

Essential Functions

• Ability to perform general physical activities that require coordination and considerable use of arms and/or legs and whole-body movement such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, carrying objects and handling tools, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to operate tools and various construction equipment and handle hazardous materials in a safe and effective manner.
• Ability to plan and execute construction or maintenance projects of various scope utilizing experience or significant skill in one or more trades.

Level of Supervision or Independent Judgement

• Performs experienced tradesperson duties with minimal supervision following procedures, instructions, and directions given.
• Opportunities for independent decision making to effectively complete assigned trade projects and tasks.

Work Environment

Duties are performed in varied environments including outdoor and indoor sites. Exposure to hot or cold temperatures and/or wind, rain, snow, or other weather may occur. Exposure to hazardous materials and moderate to high noise levels is anticipated. Operation of tools and equipment involves the ability to repetitively manipulate objects from light to substantial weight using both fine and gross motor skills.
