Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Boston/Logan is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine, preventative and emergency maintenance under the direction of the Chief Engineer. You will respond promptly to guest maintenance needs, complete work orders, and conduct daily inspections of the property to maintain safety, cleanliness, and functionality.

Ideal candidates have two years of maintenance experience, basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Two years' maintenance experience.
  • General Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Diagnostics.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to bend, stoop, climb ladders, stand and walk for extended periods.
  • English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Scheduling flexibility and availability for varied shifts including holidays/weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to maintenance requests and perform repairs.
  • Complete tasks, work orders and projects as directed by Chief Engineer.
  • Conduct daily inspections of grounds and work areas.
  • Ensure safety equipment and conditions are up to code; report concerns.
  • Maintain and test hotel emergency and security systems.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in working condition.

Job description

Description

Primary function of the Maintenance Technician is to complete projects and repairs in regard to routine, preventative and emergency maintenance in the hotel as directed by the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that guests receive prompt, professional treatment and courteous service in response to their maintenance needs.
  • Complete all tasks, work orders and special projects as assigned by Chief Engineer.
  • Perform daily inspections to ensure property grounds and work areas are maintained to standard.
  • Be aware that all safety equipment and conditions are up to code, report any concern to the Chief Engineer or General Manager.
  • Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Complete all preventative maintenance projects as assigned.
  • As assigned, maintain, monitor, and test the hotel's emergency and security systems, features and procedures.
  • Be aware that all tools and equipment are in working condition, and up to code; report any concerns to the Chief Engineer or General Manager.
  • Maintain all equipment and tools.
  • Maintain entire facility & grounds.
  • Proficient in basic Building Services Engineering.
  • Perform property walks to ensure cleanliness, functionality and security.
  • Setup maintain and refresh function rooms as required.
  • Experience is preferred but not limited within the following areas: Swimming Pool Maintenance, Testing, and Treatment. Painting, Drywall, Plastering, Tile & Grouting, Basic Electrical, Low Voltage Electrical, Irrigation Systems, Basic Plumbing, HVAC, and PTAC's, Commercial Appliance Repair, Etc.
