Job summary

Pikes Peak Post Acute is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal preparation, assembly, and delivery in a resident-centered setting. The role requires attention to food safety and teamwork under supervision of the Cook and Dietary supervisor.

Candidates with a high school diploma and food service experience are preferred; training may be provided. A food handlers’ certificate is required and physical tasks include lifting and standing for long periods.

• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers’ certificate.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with meal and snack preparation as directed
• Assemble trays, portion items, and help with meal service
• Deliver meals to resident rooms and dining areas with care and attention
• Wash dishes, clean equipment, and maintain sanitation standards
• Stock and rotate supplies using safe storage practices
• Follow food safety guidelines, allergy precautions, and infection control procedures
• Communicate needs, concerns, or changes to the Dietary Manager

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Reliable, team-oriented, and respectful in a resident-centered environment
• Food service experience helpful, training may be provided

Language Skills

• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.

Physical Demands

The essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities: Standing and /or walking very frequently. Sitting occasionally. Reaching with hands and arms frequently, pushing/pulling very frequently. Talking and /or hearing very frequently. Tasting and /or smelling very frequently. Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling occasionally. Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception in vision: ability to adjust focus.
