Dietary AideGeneral PurposeThe dietary aide assignments are determined by the needs basis on the activity of the shift. He/she reports to the Cook and Dietary supervisor.Key Responsibilities:Assist with meal and snack preparation as directedAssemble trays, portion items, and help with meal serviceDeliver meals to resident rooms and dining areas with care and attentionWash dishes, clean equipment, and maintain sanitation standardsStock and rotate supplies using safe storage practicesFollow food safety guidelines, allergy precautions, and infection control proceduresCommunicate needs, concerns, or changes to the Dietary ManagerQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredReliable, team-oriented, and respectful in a resident-centered environmentFood service experience helpful, training may be providedLanguage SkillsAbility to read technical procedures.Ability to read and follow recipes.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.Mathematical SkillsAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMust obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.Physical DemandsThe essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities: Standing and /or walking very frequently.
