Job summary

Children & Families of Iowa is hiring childcare staff to support kids, including those with special needs or trauma, within a nurturing, flexible program.

You will plan and implement engaging activities, build relationships to monitor progress, and provide safe supervision while using developmentally appropriate methods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Childcare experience is required.
• Ability to obtain a CDA certification.
• AA in Early Childhood Education preferred or in progress.
• For Early Head Start, CDA with Infant/Toddler coursework or commitment to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Help plan and implement fun, engaging programs for kids, including those with special needs or who've experienced trauma.
• Build meaningful relationships with children to track progress, identify challenges, and find solutions.
• Create and execute age-appropriate lesson plans with field trips, observations, and lots of creativity.
• Support children's personal, social-emotional, and physical needs while using child management techniques to ensure safety and well-being.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with childcare experience and the ability to obtain a CDA. An associate degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education or in progress is preferred. For Early Head Start (6 weeks-36 months), a CDA with Infant/Toddler coursework is required, or a commitment to obtain one.
