Job summary

Socket.dev in Lampasas, TX seeks a FSQA Technician I to help ensure sanitation and that materials and finished products meet food safety, quality, and AFNA standards. You will perform HACCP verification, identify deficiencies, and authorize holds when conditions fail to meet specifications.

Responsibilities include verifying compliance with FSQA, SQF, GMPs, and regulatory requirements; maintaining records; and supporting CAPA through root-cause analyses and procedural updates.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years in food manufacturing operations; USDA-regulated meat facility preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and standard workplace software, including data entry and electronic documentation systems.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English sufficiently to interpret procedures, complete records, and communicate food-safety concerns.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, government regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Verifies compliance with FSQA, SQF, and applicable regulatory requirements throughout daily production operations.
• Conducts inspections and investigations to verify adherence to GMPs, sanitation standards, and company requirements.
• Ensures raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products meet specifications.
• Performs HACCP verification activities, reviewing records and observing CCPs and CPs.
• Initiates control actions, including placing ingredients, products, or areas on hold when standards are not met.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and timely food safety and quality records.
• Performs plant testing on machinery, temperatures, process controls, and raw materials.
• Audits the facility's product weight-control program and related records.
• Participates in root-cause analyses and recommends corrective actions.
• Reviews operating procedures and supports updates for new requirements or changes.
• Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality-control processes and procedures.
• Provides guidance on food safety, sanitation, processing, filling, and packaging practices.
• Supports AFNA in preventing product loss and reducing quality-related costs.
