Job summary

Kilcoy Global Foods is seeking a QA Technician to support operations on the production floor with a focus on food safety and GMP compliance. Reporting to the QA Supervisor, you will perform daily quality checks and coordinate lab testing and release activities.

You'll work 11:00 PM - 7:15 AM, collaborating with the operations team to ensure regulatory, policy and customer expectations are met, and you may contribute to continuous improvements and audits.

Qualifications

• GMPs & HACCP knowledge required.
• Experience with food safety audits and compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of OSHA and USDA regulations and food microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day production floor activities as assigned by the QA supervisor/lead, monitoring process controls for food safety & GMP compliance.
• Conduct daily quality checks in production and document findings.
• Coordinate lab testing, sample collection, and test/hold requirements when results arrive.
• Release products after reviewing critical control point information related to cooking and chilling CCPs.
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure compliance with regulatory policies, procedures, and customer expectations for raw materials and finished goods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

This position reports to the QA Supervisor and is part of the QA structure. Working alongside other QA team members supporting operations team process in accordance with the organization’s policies and programs, to ensure that customer quality standards are being met.

Role and Responsibilities

• Performing day-to-day production floor activities as assigned by the QA supervisor and lead, monitoring process controls for food safety & GMP compliance.
• Daily quality checks in production that include regular defined frequency checks of food quality and safety control points with timely execution and precise document keeping.
• Responsible for coordinating lab testing needs & activities, sample collection and facilitation of test and hold requirements once results are received.
• Responsible for product release activities after reviewing critical control point information in reference to cooking and chilling CCPs.
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure compliance with regulatory, policies and procedures, company and customer expectations as related to the receiving of raw materials, and production process, process controls, and packaging of finished goods.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years’ of food safety or quality experience in the food industry
• Knowledge of GMPs, SPC, HACCP, OSHA, USDA regulations, and Food Microbiology
• Experience with Food Safety Audit expectations and requirements
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• HACCP certification preferred
• SQF training preferred
