Job summary

Brakebush Brothers, Inc. in Westfield, WI is seeking a FSQA Supervisor to ensure safe, efficient production that meets HACCP and SSOP standards.

The role requires leading a team of QA Techs and coordinating daily food safety activities on the 3rd shift. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of supervisory experience in a USDA-regulated facility (or a bachelor’s degree with leadership experience) and solid skills in communication, organization, and problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Two years supervisory or lead experience in a USDA regulated facility OR a bachelor’s degree with two years of leadership experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, teamwork, and decision-making in stressful situations.
  • Able to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements.
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office 365; Word, Excel, SharePoint & Planner; willingness to learn new software.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary: The FSQA Supervisor ensures that the manufacturing facility produces safe and efficient food, follows HACCP and SSOP programs, and meets the high quality-assurance standards of our business partners.

Schedule: 3rd shift, on-site 8:30pm - 5:30am

Essential Functions:
  • Supervises and leads a team of QA Techs to ensure accountability and compliance to all Food Safety & Quality programs, specifically pre-operational sanitation inspections.
  • Guides the team through internal audits and guide management on all Food Safety & HACCP related programs, including new team member training.
  • Helps investigate any internal food safety/quality issues reported during the shift.

Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated two years supervisory or lead experience in a USDA regulated facility OR a bachelor's degree and two years of leadership experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to include professional oral and written communication, a team-focused approach, and the ability to model composure/make decisions in stressful situations.
  • Able to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
  • Attention to detail: excellent organizational skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident and experienced self-starter.
  • Competent experience in Microsoft Office 365 with an emphasis in Word, Excel, SharePoint & Planner applications, and comfortable learning and using new software/applications, as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, emphasis food science or closely related field
  • Prior experience working in an SQF Audited facility
  • Experience working in the food industry
  • Knowledge/work experience in poultry industry

Supervisory Responsibility: This would include overseeing a team of about 15 team members, oversee/document training of these team members including personnel reviews, maintain inventory of scales and thermometers, maintain tracking of sanitation performance, and other assigned shift responsibilities.

Work Environment: High noise, cold temperature, warm temperature, slippery floors, moving equipment and dust may be present. Employees will wear personal protective equipment as necessary or required.

Physical Demands: Position requires sitting and standing for up to 8 hours as well as occasionally lifting 50 pounds.

Position Type: This is a full-time exempt position. Some Saturday work required.
