General Mills in Green Bay, WI is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Technician on 3rd shift to monitor food safety and quality systems, perform inspections, collect data, and ensure compliance with company, customer, regulatory, and BRC requirements. The role emphasizes attention to detail, sound scientific judgment, and clear communication with all levels of staff.

Starting pay is $24.52/hour with a $2.00 shift differential for 3rd shift, excellent vacation time, holidays, and comprehensive

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in food manufacturing and QA is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor GMPs in production and warehouse for compliance.
  • Calibrate test equipment (scales, thermometers, moisture analyzers) and report results.
  • Inspect finished products and processing parameters to ensure compliance with specs.
  • Maintain records of testing, inspection results, and observations.
  • Notify leadership of deviations and support root cause analysis.

If you want to be part of a team that will learn and grow, develop leadership skills, drive results quickly, work within a safety-first mindset, and expand your technical capabilities, then GMI is a great place to start!What We Have to Offer$24.52/hr plus $2.00 shift differential for 3rd shiftUp to 120 hours (15 days) vacation annually (depending on schedule)11 paid company holidays401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, life insuranceCareer growth and cross-training opportunitiesYour Work Schedule and Shift Information3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AMCurrently hiring for: 8-hourMust be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays as neededPlant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESMaintain a safe and clean working environmentFollow all company safety rules and proceduresMonitor GMPs in production and the warehouse for compliance and document findings on approved formsPerform calibrations of test and measuring equipment including scales, thermometers, moisture analyzers, and other tools, in a timely, safe, and professional manner; report results and issues to FSQ Quality EngineersConduct incoming raw material inspections, verify and file Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and review other receiving documents in accordance with quality control proceduresInspect finished products and processing parameters to ensure compliance with customer specifications and manufacturing instructionsGenerate COAs as needed and send them to customers in a timely mannerConduct finished product label verificationNotify production personnel of deviations in product quality and place product on hold when necessaryConduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections and collect samples for environmental monitoring, including air, water, drains, and equipment surfacesVerify Preventive Control Points daily and ensure food safety checks are completed as requiredCoordinate, schedule, and perform weekly pizza bake-offs and conduct texture analysis when required; measure, collect, and enter data into spreadsheets or business systems for trendingMaintain appropriate records of testing, inspection results, and observationsMaintain accurate records related to QA hold products, retention samples, foreign material incidents, non-conforming products, customer complaints, and pre-operational swabbing resultsNotify the FSQA Manager, Coordinator/Team Lead, Line Lead, and Plant Manager of unusual product observations to ensure potential quality issues are identified, reviewed, and resolved before product releasePartner with operators, line leads, team leaders, maintenance, and the quality team to troubleshoot and resolve quality issuesManage line-specific programs, including line GMPs, MI audits, and other quality programs in accordance with quality control proceduresComplete miscellaneous filing and clerical duties as needed by FSQ leadershipPerform other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredFor business and safety reasons, must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in written English.One year of food manufacturing experience and at least one year of Quality Assurance experience preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office; including Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to communicate effectively with both line-level employees and managementELIGIBILITYApplicants must meet a minimum 18-year age qualification.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER (EOE)General Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
