POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process and maintaining compliance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act. The provision of this care is to be conducted in a collaborative manner with all members of the healthcare team in order to deliver quality care and the best possible patient outcome.
Essential Core Functions Of The Registered Professional Nurse
- Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patients' health or situation
- Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues
- Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient and the situation
- Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes
- Implements the identified plan
- Evaluates progress toward the attainment of the proposed outcome
- Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
- Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice
- Exercises independent judgment in relation to patient care based on level of experience and knowledge, while working within an interdisciplinary team
- Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines relevant to statutes, rules, and regulations
- Interacts with peers and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues
- Collaborates with the patient, family, and others in a professional ethical manner
- Integrates research findings into practice
- Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in planning and delivering nursing care
- Leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession
- Follows established patient safety guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient's care which results in harm
- Performs unit-specific duties as defined and represented by the unit-specific competency requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned within defined competencies, including floating to various units based on business needs

Qualifications:
- 3+ years recent (within last year) Acute Care ER RN experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Current FL RN license or appropriate compact licensure; active FL RN compact license within 90 days if held in another state; advanced Nurse Practitioner license acceptable.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS certification required within 30 days.
