Shady Nook Inn, a lakeside bar restaurant, seeks a reliable Fry Cook / Kitchen Team Member to operate the fry station, prepare fried items, and uphold top food quality and sanitation. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, following recipes and portion standards while coordinating with the team to keep tickets moving efficiently.

The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and teamwork, with opportunities to contribute to inventory and station readiness across opening, service, and closing shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous fry cook or line cook experience preferred.
• Experience with fryers and hot cooking equipment.
• Strong attention to timing, quality, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Able to follow recipes and portion standards.
• Capable of working well as part of a team.
• Reliable and organized during busy shifts.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the fryer station during service.
• Prepare fried items according to recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Monitor fryer oil quality, temperature, and cooking times.
• Keep the fry station stocked, clean, and organized.
• Prepare and portion ingredients for the fry station.
• Follow all food-handling, allergen-awareness, safety and sanitation procedures.
• Help with opening, closing, cleaning, and basic kitchen prep duties.
• Communicate with kitchen team to keep ticket times moving.
• Assist with inventory, restocking, and supply organization.
