Job summary

AFC Franchise Corp is seeking a Fruit Cutter Specialist to support multiple Freshly Go store locations. The role involves preparing fresh cut fruit for retail while upholding safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards. A 1-week orientation is provided.

This is a temporary full-time position based on business needs and assignment availability. Responsibilities include washing, cutting, labeling, and packaging fruit according to recipes, maintaining station cleanliness, and adhering to health

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Food safety knowledge and sanitation practices.
• Ability to safely use knives and food preparation tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Reliable and punctual, able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, cut, slice, and package fresh fruit according to company recipes and portion standards.
• Ensure all products meet freshness, quality, and appearance standards.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (e.g., handwashing, glove use, temperature control).
• Label, date, and rotate product using standard procedures to ensure quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, including equipment and prep surfaces.
• Safely operate knives and food preparation equipment.
• Stock and organize merchandising stations to look full.
• Prepare and cut fruit/vegetables to have ready to sell.
• Promote fruit/vegetables by sampling daily.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and health regulations.
• Maintain an active Food Handler Certification.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Fruit Cutter Specialist is assigned in various Freshly Go store locations around the nation. Responsibilities include operating the Fruit and Vegetable stations in stores which are under AFC Corporate management until assignment ends. This role will prepare fresh, high-quality cut fruit for retail sale while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards. Training will be provided during a 1-week orientation at a designated location. The role is temporary full-time status and work is based on business operational needs and assignment availability.

• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to safely use knives and food preparation tools

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Must have excellent customer service skills

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods standing and preparing food
• Ability to work in refrigerated or cold environments
• Must be able to lift up to 25 -50 pounds at times
• Must be able to work late and unpredictable hours
• Manual dexterity for cutting, slicing, and packaging fruit
