Job summary

AFC Corporate is seeking a Fruit Cutter Specialist to operate the Freshly Go fruit and vegetable stations at various store locations. You will prepare fresh fruit for retail, uphold food safety standards, and maintain clean, well-presented work areas.

Orientation lasts one week, and assignment-based shifts provide temporary full-time work. Responsibilities include slicing, labeling, and stocking products while following recipes and quality guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to safely use knives and food preparation tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of fruit/vegetable handling.
• Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, cut, slice, and package fresh fruit according to company recipes and portion standards.
• Ensure all products meet freshness, quality, and appearance standards.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (e.g., proper handwashing, glove use, temperature control).
• Properly label, date, and rotate product using standard procedures to ensure quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, including equipment and prep surfaces.
• Safely operate knives, cutting tools, and food preparation equipment.
• Stock and organize the merchandising stations so they look full.
• Prepare and cut fruit/vegetables to have ready to sell.
• Promote fruit/vegetables by sampling daily.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and health regulations.
• Maintain an active Food Handler Certification.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Fruit Cutter Specialistis assigned in various Freshly Go store locations around the nation. Responsibilities include operating the Fruit and Vegetable stations in stores which are under AFC Corporate management until assignment ends. This role will prepare fresh, high-quality cut fruit for retail sale while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards. Training will be provided during a 1-week orientation at a designated location. The role is temporary full-time status and work is based on business operational needs and assignment availability.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Previous food prep, produce, or grocery experience preferred (not required)
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to safely use knives and food preparation tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Knowledge of fruit/vegetable handling
• Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Must have excellent customer service skills
• Must take initiative and be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods standing and preparing food
• Ability to work in refrigerated or cold environments
• Must be able to lift up to 25 -50 pounds at times
• Must be able to work late and unpredictable hours
• Manual dexterity for cutting, slicing, and packaging fruit
