Job summary

Welch's in Waltham, MA, is seeking a Food Scientist to accelerate innovation across our fruit-based foods and beverages. In this hands-on role, you will lead projects from concept to commercialization, translating consumer insights into market-ready products and partnering across marketing, QA, and manufacturing.

The successful candidate will have at least three years of NPD experience, a relevant bachelor's degree, cross-functional leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects

Qualifications

• At least three years of new product development experience from concept to commercialization.
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing external partners including suppliers and co-manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive product innovation from concept to commercialization.
• Translate consumer insights into prototypes and product concepts.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Consumer Insights on learning plans.
• Make trade-off decisions on cost, quality, speed, and feasibility.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams and co-manufacturers on timelines.
• Provide technical expertise to support quality and cost optimization.
• Create and review specifications throughout the NPD cycle.
