Job summary

Welch's is seeking a Food Scientist to accelerate innovation across our fruit-based foods and beverages in a hybrid role based at our headquarters in Waltham, MA.

You'll move ideas from lab to scale-up, collaborating with Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Manufacturing to deliver market-ready products. A strong technical—plus business—orientation will help turn insights into successful launches.

Qualifications

• At least three years of new product development experience for foods/beverages.
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience influencing and leading within cross-functional teams.
• Experience providing technical leadership for product commercialization, scale-up, and launch.
• Experience managing external partners (suppliers, co-manufacturers, labs).
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive product innovation from concept to commercialization.
• Translate consumer insights into prototypes and concepts.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Consumer Insights on learning plans.
• Balance cost, quality, speed, and feasibility to meet objectives.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams and co-manufacturers on timelines and trials.
• Leverage supplier partnerships and data to anticipate trends.
• Provide technical support for quality, productivity, and cost initiatives.
• Work across functions to achieve project goals.
• Create and review raw material, formulation, and finished-product specs.
