Job Title: FRs – Insert Pre-Tinning Technician
Summary

The Insert Pre-Tin Technician – Entry Level position supports the production team by assisting with preparation and pre‑tinning of connector components used in manufacturing operations. This is an entry‑level manufacturing role and no prior experience or specialized skills are required. Previous soldering experience is helpful, but not required. Training will be provided.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail‑oriented, willing to learn new processes, and able to work both independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting production processes while maintaining company quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Place inserts into designated fixtures for processing
  • Apply solder to contacts and solder cups according to work instructions
  • Remove gold plating residue and excess solder from components
  • Inspect parts for quality and accuracy during the preparation process
  • Follow production procedures and manufacturing instructions
  • Use hand tools and basic production equipment as trained
  • Maintain organization of materials, fixtures, and workstations
  • Handle components carefully to avoid damage
  • Support production flow by completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Follow all company quality standards and safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Must be able to work a consistent schedule
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Required Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Ability to interact with others as a contributing member of a close‑knit team. Ability to work closely together with others, possibly of different backgrounds and interests, without friction. Works well with people. Able to maintain strict confidentiality.

Mathematical Skills

Aptitude to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to calculate figures and amounts.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Ability to comfortably use computer software in a Windows environment. Basic understanding of software, word‑processing, spreadsheet, and related office applications.

General

Self‑starter, able to work independently, able to work under pressure, comfortable with interacting with multiple levels of organization, able to work cross‑functionally within organization to accomplish objectives, results oriented.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move tooling and components weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision for assembly, color vision for quality checks, and depth perception.

Work Environment

This position works in a production and manufacturing environment where employees may be exposed to machinery, soldering equipment, noise, and standard manufacturing materials. Appropriate safety equipment and training will be provided.
