Job summary

Snap-on Tools is seeking a precision soldering technician to join our manufacturing team. You will perform microscopic soldering of wires and components onto circuit boards, following detailed drawings and specifications to ensure high-quality assemblies.

The role may include back‑up duties in assembly to meet production needs. You will operate soldering irons, microscopes, and SMT equipment, while maintaining accuracy and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of six months of SMT and soldering experience.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and visual acuity.
  • Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred; electrical assembly helpful.
  • Proficient in English, with reading, writing and speaking ability.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor coworkers and temporary staff.
  • Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform microscopic soldering of wires and components onto boards.
  • Assemble, inspect, and rework boards per drawings and specs.
  • Operate standard electronics assembly equipment including soldering irons and microscopes.
  • Conduct rework of defective assemblies as needed.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Assemble various product lines using manual and mechanical methods to meet production needs.

Monday - Friday 5 AM - 1:30 PM (Some Saturday and two (2) hours of possible daily overtime)

Pay Range $20.25 - $20.50

POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for performing precision soldering of wires and components to circuit boards. You will follow detailed engineering drawings, travelers, and manufacturing procedures to ensure high‑quality assemblies that meet strict industry standards. May serve as back up to assembly.

  • Perform microscopic soldering of wires, leads, and electronic components onto boards and assemblies.
  • Assemble, inspect, and rework boards and subassemblies per drawings and specifications.
  • Operate standard electronics assembly equipment, including soldering irons, and when needed microscopes.
  • Conduct rework of defective or improperly functioning assemblies as needed.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assembly of some or all product lines using both manual and mechanical means in a timely manner to meet production requirements.

  • High school diploma, GED, or at least one year of equivalent manufacturing experience required.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and soldering required.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and visual acuity.
  • Previous manufacturing or assembly experience required; electrical assembly experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in English, with the ability to read, write, and speak effectively.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate feedback clearly.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor coworkers, new hires, and temporary employees.
  • Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and meeting deadlines.
