Job summary

Thorpe Specialty Services Corporation is seeking a FRP Laborer to assist with installation, repair, maintenance, and fabrication of FRP components in industrial environments. You will support skilled FRP craftsmen with material prep, surface prep, jobsite setup, and general labor tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years in industrial/construction settings, along with the ability to read blueprints and operate hand/power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of industrial or construction experience with exposure to specialized craft work.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or project plans.
• Knowledge of basic safety practices and ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Good physical endurance and ability to perform manual labor tasks.
• Must be able to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist FRP Craftsmen and Technicians with fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance of FRP piping, tanks, ducts, vessels, and structural components.
• Perform surface preparation activities including cleaning, sanding, grinding, and preparing surfaces for fiberglass and resin application.
• Assist with cutting and preparing fiberglass mats, cloth, and other FRP materials as directed.
• Assist with mixing and applying resins and related materials under supervision.
• Use basic hand and power tools, grinders, cutting equipment, and other tools as trained.
• Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment on the jobsite.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE; report hazards to supervisors.
• Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
• Maintain tools, machinery, and work areas; assist with troubleshooting and addressing basic issues.
• Help maintain project timelines by completing tasks efficiently and on schedule.
