Job summary

Thorpe Plant Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced FRP Craftsman to fabricate, install, and maintain specialty industrial systems. The role requires reading blueprints, supervising apprentices, and ensuring safety and quality across projects.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least 1 year in an industrial craft setting, with welding or related certifications preferred. On-site work across construction sites with PPE required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in industrial or specialty craft environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of hand tools, power tools, machinery, and industrial systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; ability to work independently.
• Ability to train and mentor less experienced team members effectively.
• Understanding of safety protocols, quality control standards, and industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, and maintain specialty systems and equipment per project specs.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan tasks.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding, and specialized equipment to complete tasks.
• Perform quality control inspections and preventive maintenance on systems.
• Supervise and mentor Craftsman II and apprentices.
• Ensure work meets safety standards, quality controls, and deadlines.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow across project stages.
• Perform advanced measurements and alignments for installations and repairs.
• Maintain and repair tools and equipment; report malfunctions.
