Job summary

Thorpe Specialty Services Corporation in North Salt Lake, Utah, seeks an FRP fabricator to fabricate, install, repair and maintain FRP piping, tanks, ducts, and vessels on industrial sites.

You will interpret blueprints and work orders, perform resin lay‑up, apply coatings, ensure safety, read specifications, and collaborate with welders and pipefitters while upholding quality and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years FRP fabrication, repair, or installation in industrial settings preferred.
• Familiarity with corrosion-resistant materials and resin systems.
• Ability to read construction drawings and safety documentation.
• Knowledge of ASTM, ASME RTP-1, and NACE is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Safety certifications preferred (OSHA 10/30, confined space, fall protection).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, repair, and maintain FRP piping, tanks, and vessels.
• Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders for installations.
• Perform surface prep, lay-up of fiberglass mats, apply resins, and curing.
• Conduct inspections for wear, corrosion, and structural deficiencies.
• Use hand and power tools, cutting and grinding equipment, and FRP tools.
• Mix resins, catalysts, and hardeners according to data sheets and safety guidelines.
• Work with welders, pipefitters, and other trades on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Complete job docs—hazard analyses, permits, quality control forms.
