Job summary

Safeway in Spokane is seeking a team-oriented clerk to support the Frozen Food department. You will provide customer service, train and supervise staff, and ensure accurate inventory and timely restocking of shelves.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to follow procedures, and a willingness to perform a range of duties in a fast-paced retail environment. Safety, accuracy, and teamwork are emphasized in this position.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures. Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Desired: Previous experience as a clerk.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
• Train, schedule, and supervise Frozen Food workers to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the department.
• Speak with customers to resolve problems involving sales, satisfaction with service, or product and other problems related to the operation of the Frozen Food area.
• Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
• Replace stock in coolers, freezers, and end displays.
• Make sure that all expired items are removed from the shelves daily.
• Unload boards and stack on pallets or six wheel carts. Push pallet jacks or six wheeled carts through store to display areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of display areas and freezers.
• Other duties as assigned.
