Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Frontline SRE within the Global Banking & Markets division to own the reliability, scalability, and operation of automated trading systems in production. You will collaborate with software engineers, trading operations, and vendors to resolve incidents and deploy safe, high-quality changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/CE or related field is a plus.
• 4+ years of experience in an SRE/Production Engineering/DevOps role.
• Hands-on experience with an OO language (e.g., Java, C++) and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Proven experience supporting high-availability production platforms.
• Knowledge of US Equities and Options market microstructure and electronic trading.
• Strong SDLC and Git experience.
• Networking concepts, TCP/IP, FIX are plus.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and release management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• System ownership: monitor availability, latency, performance of production trading services.
• Toil reduction: build automation tools to improve efficiency.
• Pre-release engineering: support services before go-live with design reviews.
• Change management: safely deploy code into live trading environment.
• Collaboration: liaise with trading desks, strategists, and vendors to resolve issues.
• Continuous improvement: enhance stability, performance, and disaster-recovery readiness.
• Market microstructure: understand US equities and options market rules to interact with exchanges.
• Automated testing: write and maintain automated tests across trading sessions.
