Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to help keep guests and team members safe while protecting assets in our store. You will respond to incidents, document actions in our incident systems, and support a secure shopping environment.

The role emphasizes a welcoming attitude, de-escalation skills, teamwork, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Applicants must be 18+, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed

Responsibilities

• Support guests and team members at the front of store and provide service
• Lead a physical security culture by maintaining safe standards throughout the store
• Respond to and document security incidents accurately
• Understand and use escalation tools for guest issues to ensure safety
• Conduct merchandise recoveries and provide apprehension support per AP policies
• Prevent theft by performing receipt checks for high-dollar merchandise
