Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Resource Room Specialist to triage customers, assist with flow, and provide high-touch service in the workforce centers. You will assess needs and initiate warm handoffs to services under supervision of the Deputy Director.

The role emphasizes customer excellence, computer assistance, resume critiques, and facilitating workshops, with a strong focus on a welcoming, efficient center environment in Deep East Texas.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of WIOA, TANF, SNAP and other workforce programs.
• Excellent listening and ability to analyze customer needs and suggest solutions.
• Comfort using computers and office equipment (copier, printer, etc).
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive.
• Ability to meet/exceed goals and objectives.
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, and communication skills (oral & written).
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, remain flexible and discreet.
• Adherence to Extreme Customer Service in all interactions.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between customers and services in the Workforce Solutions Centers.
• Greet visitors warmly and ensure comfort.
• Triage customers to meet needs and provide exceptional service.
• Assist customers with computer use and online assessments.
• Critique resumes and letters of introduction; provide job search resources.
• Re-engage customers by discussing services and benefits.
• Deliver dynamic presentations in person and virtually.
• Create workshop schedules and invite partners based on needs.
• Book rooms for customers waiting for space.
• Train on resources available within the Center for customers and staff.
• Keep the resource area tidy and welcoming.
• Coordinate office activities and gather customer feedback.
• Approach tasks with a proactive, flexible mindset.
