Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy Associations Inc is seeking entry-level DSP staff who will provide instruction and personal care to adults with developmental and physical disabilities at multiple program sites in California. The role requires learning the ISP framework, completing orientation, and progressing through the DSP ladder with supervision.

Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to travel between UCPSJ sites using their own vehicle.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED, with preference given to persons who have experience working in day or residential programs serving persons with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides group and individual instruction daily.
• Provides direct personal care, including toileting, as needed.
• Reads and uses each client's ISP to know their objectives.
• Records daily data on each client's ISP progress.
• Follows floor routines, safety procedures, and emergency procedures.
• Rides with and supervises clients during transport to and from the program and in the community.
• Maintains program equipment and cleanliness.
• Develops rapport with clients, staff, families and stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
