Job summary

A S & P Corporation in Union City, CA is looking for a compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them live as independently as possible.

You will build meaningful connections, follow ISPs, and collaborate with families and care teams. CA driver license and flexible hours are preferred to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience as a DSP, caregiver, or in human services preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and health screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately.
• Transport and accompany clients to appointments, community outings, and activities.
• Encourage skill-building, independence, and community integration.
• Administer medications and follow health and safety protocols as required.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members.
