Job summary

Customs and Border Protection is seeking a CBPO to enforce border, immigration and trade regulations in a federal law enforcement capacity. This role offers base pay at GS-5/7/9 levels with potential for promotion to GS-11/12, full benefits, and opportunities for overtime and a competitive federal retirement plan.

Selected candidates may receive recruitment incentives and relocation benefits. Must meet citizenship and residency requirements and complete training at the FLETC in Georgia.

Qualifications

• CBP knowledge of laws, regs and procedures.
• Observation and inspection abilities to identify risk.
• Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments and enforce regulations.

Responsibilities

• Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Oversee flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determine admissibility of individuals entering the United States.
• Prevent illicit entry and smuggling of contraband.
