Job summary

Meta is seeking a Research Scientist to independently own ambitious applied research from question to measured result. You will identify capability gaps, formulate hypotheses, develop methods and benchmarks, and build experimental RL environments to advance Muse models.

You will collaborate across Applied AI with researchers and engineers, aiming to publish first-author AI work and push the boundaries of frontier AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, AI or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years leading major research initiatives or influencing technical strategy across teams.
• Demonstrated ability to build reliable technical systems and evaluate their results.
• Strong track record of first-author publications on AI-related topics with experience presenting the work.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own ambitious applied research from question to measured result.
• Develop methods and benchmarks and build high-quality RL environments and data infrastructure.
• Analyze agent behavior to distinguish genuine progress from shortcuts.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers across Applied AI to turn ideas into reproducible methods and systems.
