Job summary

Reflection is a research lab making intelligence open and accessible for everyone. The Research Program Manager embeds with research and infrastructure teams to accelerate frontier model development and to scale training infrastructure across pre-training, mid-training, and post-training.

You will own cross-functional programs, drive end-to-end coordination with engineering leads and external partners, triage incidents, and translate technical complexity into clear status updates for leadership,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in technical program management, research operations, or infrastructure coordination in ML/AI or large-scale distributed systems.
• Deep technical knowledge to engage with engineers on distributed training frameworks, GPU cluster architecture, scheduler behavior, networking, and storage systems.
• Ability to operate effectively in high-ambiguity, fast-moving environments and create structure where there is none.
• Track record of managing complex, multi-team programs with competing priorities and hard deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management across both deeply technical ICs and senior leadership.
• Comfortable operating in crisis mode and staying calm under pressure.
• Excited to build from zero to one in a small, fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

• Own cross-functional programs spanning training infrastructure and cluster reliability across pre-training, mid-training, and post-training workstreams.
• Drive end-to-end coordination scaling our training stack alongside engineering leads and external partners.
• Triage active incidents and escalations to drive resolution across teams; promote blameless post-mortems.
• Partner with infrastructure and research engineering leads to identify bottlenecks and set priorities.
• Ensure infrastructure investments are tied to research velocity and outcomes.
• Build visibility into training run health, cluster reliability, and infrastructure performance for leadership.
• Create durable processes for cross-team handoffs, config management, and checkpoint workflows.
