Job summary

Cartesia AI, Inc. is seeking a Data & Strategy Lead to own and shape critical inputs for frontier AI models.

You will collaborate with research, product, and GTM teams, making decisions with incomplete information and building new processes from the ground up to maximize model quality and business impact. You will work across research and product to design evals, source data, and establish data quality from collection to delivery, while engaging with customers to align data needs with commercial

• 3–10 years in high-ownership roles at startups
• Technical fluency with data and operations; SQL proficiency required

Responsibilities

• Partner with research and modeling teams to find where models fail through evals and customer conversations.
• Design, source, and maintain the evals that define quality for our models, grounded in observed failures.
• Establish new sources of human data, build collection pipelines, and own data quality from acquisition to delivery.
• Stay close to research, read papers, and determine which datasets move capabilities.
• Be commercially minded: engage with customers, enable GTM, and drive revenue growth.
