Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer II on the Marketing & Privacy Engineering (MPE) team. You’ll build high-traffic consumer web experiences using React and TypeScript, while supporting experimentation, instrumentation, and marketing integrations to drive measurable growth.

You will collaborate across Product, Design, Marketing, Analytics, and Data Engineering, break projects into tasks, and deliver in multiple phases with a strong ownership mindset.

Job description

• Marketing & Privacy Engineering (MPE) builds trusted, privacy-aware consumer web experiences and measurement systems that enable sustainable growth. Within MPE, the MarTech pillar owns affirm’s Logged-Out Web experiences, web experimentation, client-side tagging, marketing technology integrations, attribution, and measurement
• As a Software Engineer II on MPE, you will build and improve high-traffic consumer web experiences while contributing to the experimentation, instrumentation, and marketing integrations that help affirm understand and grow consumer acquisition
• You will work in a modern web stack across React, TypeScript, shared component systems, testing, performance, and observability, with opportunities to develop deeper expertise in technologies such as Google Tag Manager, analytics and experimentation platforms, conversion tracking, and marketing APIs
• You will partner with senior engineers as well as Product, Design, Marketing, Analytics, and Data Engineering to ship reliable experiences and ensure measurement and privacy requirements are considered during development
• With the support of your team’s tech lead and manager, you will break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of your work
• You will support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs
• You will support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting “keep the lights on” & on-call efforts
• You will contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process
