GRVTY in Maryland is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to build intuitive web apps for a Data Lake/Warehouse. You will collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to deliver holistic user experiences in a hybrid environment with the Columbia, MD office being a key site.

The role requires strong JavaScript and frameworks experience, Git, Unix CLI, and the ability to work across REST APIs. A Top Secret clearance and 5 years of frontend work (or equivalent) are required.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.
• 5 years frontend software development with a relevant degree; 3 years with a Master; or 9 years with HS.
• 5 years of JavaScript experience with one or more web frameworks (Vue, React, Angular, Backbone).
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creation, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications.
• JavaScript / CSS / HTML coding and code review.

• Define and interact with REST based APIs.
• Troubleshoot customer reported issues and provide support.

Position Title: Frontend Software Engineer

GRVTY is looking for a motivated Frontend Developer who is passionate about building intuitive applications that meet the needs of our users. What You'll be Owning

• Assist with the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications.
• JavaScript / CSS / HTML coding and code review.
• Work closely with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to build holistic user experiences.
• Help define and interact with REST based APIs.
• Troubleshoot customer reported issues in applications and providing support.
• Write unit tests and conduct quality assurance testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Must Have

• Must have an active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• 5 years of experience with front end software development/engineering with a B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• 5 years of experience with JavaScript and one or more web application frameworks (ie: Vue / React / Angular / Backbone) or similar demonstrated competency.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control software.
• Comfortable working on a *nix command line.
• Self-motivation; Ability to multi-task and prioritize open issues / tickets accordingly.
• Problem solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 2-3 days per week at a Columbia, MD office. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.

What Would be Nice to Have

• Previous experience with a Data Lake/Warehouse is a plus.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.
