Job summary

Accrete is seeking a Frontend Engineer to join the team at Alexandria, VA, delivering rapid prototypes at the intersection of data engineering, software development, and AI.

You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, AI teams, product managers, and government customers to ingest and manipulate data, build lightweight applications, and iterate on prototypes for production potential.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence or Lifestyle Polygraph.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related technical field.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong experience with C++, Python, Java, SQL, and APIs; data source integration.
• Proven ability to rapidly develop software prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts.
• Solid understanding of software development fundamentals and debugging skills.
• Ability to learn new tools quickly and work across unfamiliar technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop functional software prototypes rapidly to demonstrate new concepts.
• Translate mission requirements into working technical solutions.
• Build proof‑of‑concepts combining data, APIs, AI models, and software components.
• Create lightweight applications, services, scripts, and interfaces for testing ideas.
• Iterate quickly based on user feedback and technical findings.
• Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to test approaches.
• Draft software documentation and communicate prototype capabilities and tradeoffs.
• Work with government customers to demonstrate and discuss prototypes.
