Job summary

Vergent is seeking a frontend engineer who blends strong development skills with a keen eye for design and user experience. The role focuses on the frontend of our SaaS platform, including borrower-facing portals and operator workflows used daily.

You will also own Vergent's marketing website on WordPress, building responsive pages and custom features in collaboration with Marketing. The ideal candidate can translate designs into polished interfaces and work independently to ship improvements

Qualifications

• WordPress development experience and PHP familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and lead frontend development within the Vergent platform, turning designs into polished, responsive interfaces.
• Partner with Development and Product to improve UI, usability and overall user experience across the platform.
• Own the development, maintenance and ongoing improvement of Vergent's WordPress website.
• Build and update responsive website pages, landing pages and custom functionality, collaborating with Marketing.
• Identify opportunities to improve usability and visual design across both product and website.
• Troubleshoot frontend and WordPress issues and maintain website performance.
• Take projects from concept through implementation and ship them with cross-functional teams.

Position summary

Vergent is looking for a frontend engineer who combines strong development skills with a real eye for design and user experience. That combination is the heart of this role. We would rather have one person who can both build a clean interface and make it look and feel right than several who can only do one.

The primary focus is the frontend experience of our SaaS platform, including the borrower-facing portal and the operator-facing workflows our lenders use every day. This person will also own Vergent's WordPress marketing website end to end. The platform work is the priority; the website is a core responsibility alongside it.

What you will do

• Contribute to and help lead frontend development within the Vergent platform, turning designs and requirements into polished, responsive interfaces

Required

• Ability to take a project from concept through implementation independently

Preferred

• WordPress development experience, including custom themes and PHP. Strong candidates without it should be comfortable owning WordPress within the first few months
• Experience working on a SaaS product
• An eye for design strong enough to improve on what is handed to you
