Job summary

Velo3D, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer II to lead the evolution of the Assure web UI. You will migrate legacy components to a scalable React foundation, design interactive visualizations, and work with internal users to translate requirements into a polished user experience.

You will partner with backend engineers to integrate REST APIs, write tests, and optimize performance. This role offers healthcare coverage, 401(k) contributions, and potential bonus/equity opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience focusing on web front-end development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and modern web development practices.
• Experience building production applications with React including component design, hooks, state management, routing, and styling.
• Experience designing reusable, maintainable UI components and front-end architectures.
• Experience integrating web apps with REST APIs and collaborating with backend engineers to present data.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests for web apps (unit/integration/component tests).
• Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and browser fundamentals.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with users, stakeholders, designers, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, development, and ongoing evolution of the Assure web UI.
• Modernize the existing application by migrating legacy UI components to a scalable React foundation.
• Collaborate with internal users and stakeholders to understand workflows and shape UX.
• Design and develop rich, interactive data visualizations to monitor print-job performance and fleet health.
