Job summary

Medley Learning, a US-based startup building AI-powered classroom supports, is seeking a frontend engineer focused on React and TypeScript. The role sits on a small team where the Chrome extension is the product interface, requiring fast, accessible UI and thoughtful data handling across classrooms.

You’ll work with Head of Engineering to shape UX, data models, and scale across websites and PDF materials, balancing polished UI with robust privacy and security practices.

Qualifications

• Strong React and TypeScript skills with production frontend experience.
• Ability to read/write backend code and reason about data models and data movement.
• Keen design sense and ability to advocate for UI/UX improvements.
• Product-minded, thinking beyond tickets to user impact and outcomes.
• Execution-oriented, able to move quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including educators.
• Thrives in ambiguous startup environments and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.

Responsibilities

• Build the front end for the React/TypeScript Chrome extension and web apps with performance and accessibility in mind.
• Shape the user experience through collaboration on UI/UX design and wireframes.
• Think in systems: contribute to data models and APIs and ensure data flows are correct and private.
• Expand product coverage across more websites, platforms, and materials.
• Support AI product quality by helping evaluate and improve scaffolds.
• Build for trust with privacy, security, and reliability as the product scales.
• Operate with ownership and drive initiatives in a small, fast-moving team.
