Job summary

Omni is seeking a Frontend Engineer to set the technical direction for data visualization. You will shape how customers see and interact with their data, collaborating with the Product Manager and engineers building in this area, and you will design and build the visualization components and the pipelines behind them.

We value 5+ years of software experience (including 2+ at a senior level), deep data visualization expertise, and strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years at a senior level.
• Deep data visualization expertise with a portfolio of shipped work.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience with BI tools or analytics platforms (SQL, Looker, Tableau, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to set technical vision and influence a team without formal authority.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools and workflows (Claude Code, Cursor).

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and North Star for Omni's data visualization capabilities.
• Partner with the Product Manager and engineering team to translate viz strategy into shipped features.
• Raise the bar on visualization quality and performance.
• Design and build front-end visualization components and the underlying data pipelines that power them.
• Mentor engineers working on the visualization stream.
• Move quickly and ship iteratively, refining based on customer feedback.
• Leverage AI coding tools to maximize velocity on critical work.
