Job summary

Normal Computing is seeking a Compiler Engineer focused on frontend and model bring-up in Mountain View, CA. You will extend our compiler to support new LLM architectures, validate bring-up against simulators, and push models from bring-up to serving.

This is a research-adjacent role emphasizing publishing alongside development work. You will work with a young codebase and a team that values hands-on experimentation, hardware-software co-design, and fast iteration from idea to running models on

Qualifications

• Hands-on ML compiler experience with shipped passes.
• Deep familiarity with PyTorch internals and its compilation stack.

Responsibilities

• Model Bring-up: extend frontend and mid-level support for new LLM architectures.
• IR and Lowering: extend IR/ops with faithful representation.
• Quantization and Numerics: preserve accuracy with new quant schemes.
• Architecture Tracking: monitor LLM architecture landscape.
• Cross-Team Handoffs: coordinate with backend compiler engineers and LLM serving team.
