Position: Front Office Specialist I - TCP Post Oak

We are searching for a Front Office Specialist I — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will coordinate and perform the scheduling of patients, receive and greet visitors, answer and handle incoming calls, coordinate the referral process, enter accurate billing information into the system, and transmit accurate claims.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Responsibilities:
  1. Greet patients and visitors upon arrival utilizing Creating SMILES philosophies and AIDET principles.
  2. Assist patients with check-in/check-out.
  3. Answer telephone within three (3) rings and direct calls per practice protocol.
  4. Document complete and error-free messages in telephone encounters and route to appropriate areas per practice protocol.
  5. Enter hospital charges into the electronic billing system with 100% accuracy and within timelines established by practice protocol.
  6. Assess patient’s eligibility for referral by verifying coverage with payer prior to initiating referral.
  7. Document eligibility in the electronic health record per practice protocol.
  8. Demonstrate ability to use judgment when scheduling provider’s template.
  9. Verify and document coverage of services prior to patient being seen by a provider per practice protocol.
  10. Monitor Account Work queue and Patient Work queue weekly and determine appropriate corrective actions and complete required corrections.
  11. Ensure electronic health record is complete and ready for provider use prior to patient being seen.
  12. Collect and disseminate mail and deliveries per practice protocol.
  13. Monitor returned mail work queue and correct entries in electronic billing system within fourteen (14) days.
Qualifications Required:
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 1 Year or more of related experience
  • Bilingual highly preferred
